Photo taken in 1971, photographer unknown, displayed as office art in local Urgent Care Clinic. My '67 beetle was sitting outside when I mentioned to the nurse that "these things are still around, look there's one in the parking lot right now..." |

I bought this 67 a couple of weeks ago, fairly decent looker, not rusty which is unusual around here. |

Sunroof sedan. Was restored 10 years ago with mostly original parts. But some aftermarket stuff that I am swapping out with original or WW stuff. Motor has been rebuilt into a 1600 SP. Not sure if it's original. Not original are the stereo system and the hole they cut in the dash - that will get restored eventually. With a Retro sound stereo.
Things I've upgraded or are about to upgrade - WW bumpers front and back, new stock exhaust, new torsion bars, new tires, new aluminum trim window rubber front and back, new side view mirrors, about to do - new ivory steering wheel (steering wheel currently broken and from a '65) and dash knobs, original tin and air cleaner (Not sure what's in there now. Looks like a '66 air cleaner. And aftermarket tin.) new speedometer, complete new off white/cream interior - headliner, panels, carpet and seats.
The old seats are to squishy for my bad back. And are in dire need of an upgrade with stiffer foam. I had to cut up the headliner to replace the drain tubes. I'm not even sure what interior came in the car originally. What's in there now appears to be a TMI with custom carpet. But platinum was an option. So I'm going that general route. Car was painted white once. And then painted over with PPG urethane black. Needs to be color sanded though. Will really make it a car show finish if I do that. It was a very good paint job.
All in all a very solid car. I'm happy with it. It's a daily driver. Not a trailer queen. I try to use original parts where I can. But alot of them are WW stuff. Which are fine by me. Interior will be custom and very close to TMI/stock design. I'm also adding a ton of sound deadener and heat shield. Second skin and EZ Cool. |

Here's my 1967...recently acquired from original owner. She's got some nose damage that has been repaired. Future plans include getting correct and og hood, front fenders and bumpers. I do have a donor front clip, but that is for restoration time.

My 67, all stock, original engine/matching numbers, built Oct 66 and sold out of Santa Monica. Always been a CA car, still has all the paperwork.
I've had it for about 15 years and have been slowly replacing some non-original parts with originals. Recently tracked down NOS Beige running board mats in Germany, beige fender bead, stock oil shocks and I'll be replacing the Brasilian fuel pump with an OG Pierburg next week.
