Good video , like the ARB great price. For the money would take it over my EZ awning on my 84. But me think I will keep my shady boy on my 87. Not to fond of velcro , bags, and those legs. And still like a metal case. And did anybody say free standing! _________________ 1987 syncro westy tin top sun roof , GW2.3, rear locker, decoupler, Gary Lee tire rack & winch mount, lift, south african grill, big brakes , rhein alloy ,15 BFG AT, Fiamma 10 foot awning ,140 watt rear 85 watt front solar , mppt, truckfridge, automatic fire extinguishing system, tencent oil cooler, And a RMW SS exhaust! - 1971 bug convertible 1776 engine- 2010 Subaru turbo - 1993 Toyota 4x4 truck - 1999 Harley 95 CI, big bore, Andrews cams . Here are some shots of the BD EZY Awning Plus and walls in action. Great for multi-day locations. Kind of a PIA for overnights. Regardless, tons of weather proof living space. Not exactly "bomber" but respectable.

Yes! I was thinking full-length velcro, but same idea. For now I use some little spring clamps from Home Cheapo. Might try to source out the zippers from a local sewing shop. Good idea! |

I use the same clamps here and there, I also added more velcro but would like the added tightness
the zippers will offer.
There's still some gaping of the roof though, zipper wouldn't work there. Maybe more HD clamps? _________________ '15 Audi A3 Quattro

Exactly what I did several months ago (bought the regular-sized BD panels to use with the Trans-Awn for a light-weight enclosure* instead of lugging around the heavy Trans-Awn enclosure); if you've got a sewing machine, it's eezy-peezy.
*For you Trans-Awn owners, I'm not quite done with modifications yet, otherwise I would've posted pics by now. Should be done within the next month or so. _________________ ~Kamz

seriously...? NO ONE?
Well if it sucks you can all laugh at me since it's sitting in the garage, or you can drool when it kicks arse. All I need is a couple good weather days in Oregon and I will get it on. Check back with me sometime in 2014.... |

After working on my PVC pipe dirty feet washer tank project and now seeing some awnings in plastic bags, which don' t appeal, how about a PVC tube case for awnings? Four inch is easy to find although my tank is 6 inch.

Mike had this on display at the first Solstice. I helped him pack it and I thought it looked quite well made, nice heavy fabric and good hardware, and the amount of space it covers is very impressive, it really creates a nice environment around the van, the feeling of being in a caravanserai. I wasn't there for the deployment, but it took the two of us under 10 minutes to pack it up, not too bad when you consider it covers such a huge area. There are a few poles and it requires staking or weighting down the guy lines but if it were done right I could see it doing allright in some high winds. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:

That is cool. How did it pack up? It looks like that van has a case awning on the side, does everything pack into that for storage? _________________ Mike

I think the poles packed separately, but can't recall the details of those things, you should contact RMW and they can answer all. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:
