I went camping and all I got was an EARTHQUAKE!!!!! 35 miles from the center of it but it woke the campground, decent shaking, but nothing like the Northridge quake I was 15 miles from... home now decided not to hang around, watching damage on TV

Before that happened, great time at Lawsons Landing/Dillons Beach. Next time bringing a fishing licence and do some crabbing! (fishing for crab not bitching Laughing )... and salmon!!!

That's gorgeous, and that water looks sublime for a little dip!

Yes! It's amazing. The water has shallow spots for wading and some deeper pools you can jump in. But these mountain-fed streams are freezing!

Not the same sort of location as others here, but a good story. I had been driving for almost 14 hours through incredible amounts of construction in Alabama. I was striking out left and right trying to find a place for the night. I saw a Good Sam RV Park so decided to stop for the night. The people were so nice and I thought it was funny when she asked me where my rig was. When I told her that was it, she asked where I was going to sleep. I told her and she said, "Well, if that's what you want to do, but I can't charge you full price". She just wanted $10 and said I should find a place at the lake since I didn't need water or electric. Her husband came over in the morning to look at my "rig", he had never seen one before.

It was one of the quietest and comfortable nights I've spent in awhile.
