Stories, OK two quick ones

1) Used to drive a pro car called headgames.3rd rounds of eliminations,L.A. county raceway/Antelope Valley.Set up in water box for burn out. As I begin Suddenly everything goes black.I mean the widows are coverd with something and I think I must be on Fire or something right.Out of nowhere Dominic Lupino appears in rearview waveing his arms and shouting something.I slam on the breaks and shut it down just as the entire staging lane is getting bigger. Turns out I had somehow put it in reverse in stead of second.If not for dom I would have taken out a third of the pro field in 1 quick shot.Talking about eliminating the competition.I get back to the pits, and Fred Simpson looks and me says.Hey your pretty fast in reverse,think you can do it going forward or do I gotta turn the tranny around.You can bet THAT never happened again.
2) I was about 21yrs old working as a welding assistant.Got real bad flash burns and by the time I got home was in so much pain I had to have my girl friend drive me the ER.This would have been fine except that I drove a 72 bug with a 2074 with 48ida's and close ratio tranny.The car would yank the front wheels 5 feet in the air if you wornt carefull and my girl friend had never driven a stick.Not sure what was worse,the flash burns,the broken neck,worry what she would do the car or being BLIND through the whole thing. I quit that job two days later.I mean why take a chance. LOL Later
