Doing a full scale research on the topic is beyond an amateur budget and time allocation I guess. But a simple back to back test where same head is used without grooves first, and then with grooves, but slightly flycut to correct compression would be interesting. Mpg, temps and power must be documented at the same temperatures and ambient pressure and so on.
It has to be dyno adjusted at the same place, and with the same mechanic both times. A lot of work, but then there would be real data. |

So how do you know there was a problem in the first place, if it hasn't been measured? How do you know you attempted to fix/fixed a problem that may not even exist?
Reading through this entire thread again, from what I can see you haven't "achieved" much in that, your economy still aint great, it has not increased power output for the drop in economy. _________________ Aust. RHD 66 Type 1
