In your opinion what is the worst car ever and why? I have a three way tie between a 1984 non-turbo Saab 900s, 2005 Ford Focus, and all Chevrolet Aveos. The Saab had the strangest engineering I`ve ever seen which made everything hard to work on and expensive(in my area a fuel pump is 600 dollars US). I got one of these a couple of years ago and I never got to drive it because it caught on fire in my driveway while I was working on it and I`m not sure what happened because it wasn`t running and it wasn`t hot. I wasn`t dealing with anything electrical either. The Ford Focus did not have any power. Once while I was driving it I was run off the road because it did not have the power to merge with the traffic, my Beetle has never let me down in this way, and a month later the engine blew at 95k miles .The Chevrolet Aveo has never sat well with me. I`ve always hated the design and they seem to fall apart as much or more that an ACVW. The Aveo is slower than Christmas, I`ve outrun at least three of them in a 1991 Chevy S10 short wheel base, a 1996 Honda Civic LX non-vtec, and a 1996 Mazda 626 V6 ES(this one was so easy I almost felt bad ) This is just my opinion please feel free to post yours! |

Early Hyundais come into mind. The Yugo was a big engineering feat as well. Most low end cars from all makers are not the most reliable. _________________ 67 Ghia coupe, Retired military.

First 4-5 yrs of the excel, and the yugo top my list as well... oh, and the early-mid 90's merc. capri vert.. that was a 35k from new till death car. Cadillac/opel crap and the cimmaron deserve a mention as well

A few come to mind, like the flammable (Pinto and Fiero), the cheap (Yugo), and the dishonest (Cadillac Cimarron), just to name a few. |

Did you know that the chevy aveo was a merger between chevrolet and Daewoo? I'm serious, look at the sticker in the doorjam of one. There's almost a watermark on it that says Daewoo. It's one of those reflective things like the old holographic cards. _________________ Josh

Had a few wild times in the back of a Pinto with a cute blonde back in high school. I wouldn't say its the worst car in the world. _________________ 72 Super Beetle

Vega comes to mind. I will defend the Fiero because one saved my live when a women was too busy being late to scrape her windshield and turned in front of me. Hit her doing 65 and walked away from it.
Thought about it and my vote is the Le Car. _________________ Fatchicks: Daily drivers, donor cars, collectibles. What can't they do? |

So in this case we already have the answer to the question, "Was she hot?"
Flaming. Literally.

The Chevy Vega and the AMC Gremlin. Those two come to mind. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

Fiat Strada, 79 -82
They were doing frame rust recalls on them before they were even sold off of the new car lots!! Apparently they rusted on the ships during the trip over from Italy. Huge POS !!! I worked at a dealer at that time so am very familiar with the problems they had.
Shortly thereafter, FIAT in North America was no more.

Well, I hope that Fiat does better this time. A lot of people I know are looking forward to the new ones, but I haven`t made my mind up yet if I like them or not. |

I`ve never been that close to an Aveo. I just hate them from a distance. I thought that the Aveo was the product of GM and Suzuki, maybe that is the Aveo5 which is not any better. |

1970-78 Audi 100. The design was completely unproven, mechanics never got familiar with the design (for one, only Citroen and Rover mechanics knew inboard brakes then), the build quality was miserable, and they made Renaults seem like a good buy. |
