The "M-plate" plate also indicates L87 perl (sic) white. The plate does not seem to address the bumper or wheels.

Looking to purchase the round plastic circles that go around the fresh air vents behind the drives' and passenger's panels. Any ideas where I might be able to purchase a pair, either new or used?
Thanks in advance! |

Before 71 everything got Cloud white on the bumpers wheels and emblem regardless of body color.
Perl may be a German spelling of Pearl. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Try the classifieds for "bulkhead panels", you'll have to pry them off and recycle them. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Does anyone know if there is a thread that instructs you how to connect a radio in a late bay? _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

There are lots of threads. You need to read the instructions for your unit as well as review the threads. Search the Bay Window Forum for "key in stereo".
Clicking the "post" button on the search window will help with the search. |

I have a '73 and when I push/pull the turn signal stalk, there's no sound. In my '75 there was a clicking noise that was in sync with the flashing idiot light in the dash pod. Should there be a clicking sound in my '73?
Also, should both Left and Right arrows lights flash regardless of which direction I'm going?
Stupid questions I know but they bug me when I'm driving _________________ '73 Transporter 1.7L Dual Carb

Some flasher units make more noise than others. I paid a bit more to get a loud flasher from my '77. Yes both lights flash together. |

ok, stupid question. Does anyone know if a part number is exactly the same as another, was it made by the same company or are these just referenced for their location in the vehicle? _________________ 1978 ASI Riviera

Most of the time yes. Companies will remake a part and its reference number is the original manufacturer's part number. Now, the company making the reproduction part might reference it in their own part number but.. when it's listed, they usually use the original manufacturer's part number. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

You want to be aware that the letter suffix is as important as the rest of the part number. An xxx-a part may hardly resemble a xxx-b part and the two are likely not interchangeable. |

new member, don't yet have a van
what do you guys do about storage on extended road trips?
I'm especially directing this towards people with westys since the pop top minimizes ability for a roof rack. |

^ pack less and learn how to do the Westy shuffle: Anyone with a camper knows that the bags in the back have to move to the front at bedtime. It's something we all learn to deal with.
You can also put a roof box on top, though I would suggest strut assists if you're going to do that. _________________ -------

More important than packing less, is packing appropriately. Use the cabinets for all they are worth and don't drag around extra junk unnecessarily.
As for where people go/sleep and where you put gear often depends on how many people you have with you.
I generally travel alone or with maybe one friend. So, in the warmer months, I generally keep my gear and "stuff" down on the back of the lower bed ans sleep on top.
In the colder months, I put mu stuff up front, sleep on the bottom bunk and keep the top down to keep the warmth in. _________________ Mike
