|
|
My first post and sorry if this has been answered lots of times. I am a newbie to VW's though not to cars of this vintage....I just bought the 78 a few weeks ago and am working through various things.
I just serviced the brakes and all looks and feels well ( after the rear cylinder change ) but the squeal in reverse braking only is too impressive still. I can hardly hear my wife complain.
What should I look at...copper grease , a louder stereo or ?
thanks , al |

Welcome!
Did you replace or free up and lube the parking brake cables when you were servicing the brakes? If you pull off a drum and look at the hub are there any shiny spots where an upside down spring may have been rubbing?, While the drum is off have a look at the backing plate where the drum comes near it on the outer edge for shiny spots too.
And after that post some pics of your bus _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Thanks , I lubed everything incuding myself. Nothing looked weird , the drums and shoes looked even , and it all looked well balanced. |
