Well..... been having some withdrawal.... not changing, working, modifying...
Still driving the living hell out of it though.... 
Cooler days are here in the ole' north state, so its running like a bat outta hell.
Hopefully ..... this winter... engine tear down and refresh...
Missed both Fall Farmington, Fall CYW..
Slight update. Found a pair of bad ass early Corvair "flat engine" crossed flag emblems.
Sooooo Ditched the "140"'s. ... These seem to fit much better.

Been cold too damn cold... Operation X really hates the cold weather. Carb ices big time runs way too cold and like shit..
May pull the engine to refresh... and may have good news soon too
BUT!!!... The cold and rain doesn't keep me down..
Had a hell of a time Saturday night in Hotlanta. 12th row baby..
Another fantastic show. Setzer is the cats meow.. Gets more refined and better with age.

Its a kinda dream I think all us hot rodders have ... of having your car in a REAL calendar..
There are other's that frequent both TheSamba.com and Volksrods.com that have their cars featured for 2014. Congrats to those as well.
Operation X and I are truly honored to be among those included for 2014..
I submitted 4 photos with different angles and backdrops and this was the one that was chosen.

Have yet to pull the GM boxer engine out.. ... .

Man.....You're telling me... BIG TIME!
The jacked up, bent up, pedals, with thier big goofy pads... are a royal pain in the ass for pedal placement too..
It HAD a home built center console...ALL the way to the bulkhead. Made feet positioning even worse.. My feet felt claustrophobic...... Plus the seats are too high... I feel like Im going to spill out of just driving around... easy...well...normally.
The console pretty much fell a part as I removed it just to access the wiring.. I think it was only built to hide the radio antenna.. and a whopper of a ground location....
I built a "glove box" out of some scrap (in photo) to replace the console... really only because there was about 6 dollars in change in the old one.. which means, it was well used..... I considered the change my "tip"
There is A LOT wrong with that buggy.... but I have to keep telling myself.. "only do what the customer wants"... Ive got 3 times the amount of time in it compared to what Im charging..... because.. I keep finding shit I cant let go...
Dont even get me started on the Single Circuit master cylinder... geeezzz... Just because something is labeled street legal.. doesnt mean it should be on the street.... legally... period... 
It is a sharp looking car though... Chopped windshield, rear wing, I even think the body sides are a little shorter than most.. Looks totally 80's California..
Its actually the car that ... made me decide to build my own "CopperTub"

Well.. .forum jump..... lest just bump this half breed right on up....
Rough winter (for NC)... cold and wet. across the board everything that old Mother Nature Bitch could throw at the North State.
We all know (if you've been watching" "Operation X" has ZERO heat and plenty of ventilation... so winter = refine and upgrade..
"Operation X" has been in hibernation since early December...
Engine refresh on hold until at least after May...
Weather is looking more promising, so should be out in its 6 banging glory soon..
