Cool outside & overcast. It is no longer raining & seems to be drying out nicely. Quickly wash your rare VWs aka '76 split beetles & '34 turbo diesel brazilias. Get out to this show & have a blast. Don't be scared guys comin from a distance, it will be a great day, show & swap.
See you soon Ramon... Probably listening to Ozzy - Flyin High Again & Smoke On The Water the whole way from Philliestown. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/JuneBugClassicVW

When a group of us arrived there was a bright yellow beetle on a roll-back truck that started heading down Fleetwood-Blandon Rd., does anyone know what happened? _________________ https://www.facebook.com/JuneBugClassicVW

You missed our annual Crazy Tom's July 1st Memorial Hot VW Pavilions Show. Although this year Sat. was on the 2nd. And 118F. Hopefully no dubbers were retarded enough to attend.
Wash the VW's? Did you see our dust storm on the news?. It will take months to get things clean again. The original Crazy Tom show could have been a lot worse. http://ow.ly/5xVl7 _________________ The best thing that anyone can do for their Bay is get the Volkswagen of America Official Service Manual published by Robert Bentley. That Zündapp was a beautiful bike! My dad, my uncle and I were talking to the owner for a bit, and he is a heck of a nice guy. The bike is a 1956 200cc 2-stroke, and when he purchased it in 1990, it was a rust bucket. The owner said the restoration took about 2 years. When he first started riding, he went to a dealership and saw one for $495, but this was pretty pricey at the time, especially for a kid. He ended up getting a 1936 CZ motorcycle as his first bike, but said owning a Zundapp had always remained in the back of his mind.
The owner was telling us that back in the day in Germany, you could buy the pre-mixed Mobil 2-stroke gas right at the pump of a lot of stations (notice the really cool gas cap). Also, check out the size of those cooling fins on top of the cylinder head!
This was my first time at Deutsche Classics, but overall an awesome show!!! _________________ "I paid 2000 for my MR2 with the back quarters rusted out, 900 for the bug. So rice is more costly than kraut."--doc1369 |
