As the subject line says, I'm looking for any info on these. Particularly how they are attached and the materials used. I pulled these from another thread. This is a long shot but who knows...thanks.

user pelcocheo has one on his square. Maybe he can shed some light on how it attaches. Those pics are from my Kamei catalog.

Can you take some pics of the underside where they attach to the panels? Thanks for the info. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

just asked about this in the rare accessories thread.
i just made a cardboard template for mine. going to try to make it out of 1/4" plywood, perforated vinyl, some padding, hinges and such. |
Text me a picture of your template. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

those help a ton. the trunk is 48" wide at the widest tapering to 36 1/4" at its narrowest. the length is 36" on the dot. the dividing lines on the cover break the cover up into 1/4ths easily, using the center compartment pull knob as the centerline. still have to double and triple check my measurements so i can document the rate at which the trunk space tapers, but i need another set of hands here to help measure and hold shit.
i was planning on trying to make one as a folding, 1-piece unit (with 2 doors). hinges would be placed underneath the center and inner most joints for the doors and main pieces. 1" thick supports would form a "shelf" for the doors to sit on, so the doors sit flush similar to the above. i'm working on finalizing the template now, but its hard without anyone here to help measure.
i'll have measurements later tonight. hopefully i can figure out a sturdy, non-sagging mounting solution later tonight. _________________ '67 Squareback

I like the cover since it hides loose items and gives people less of a reason to want to enter my vehicle. _________________ ~Craig

Don't make me start calling you Gizmo Mike! heh, those covers are rad though, I'd love to have one.
Max, my family used to have a trooper in the 80's and the retractable cover was awesome. It was my go-to spot in every hide-and-seek game when I was a kid. _________________ 1969 Squareback, 1776cc
