I'm pretty sure this is a Dunbar Hawk. Is the headlight base a triangular shape? Bart

You can't really tell but the hood is recessed a bit between two angles that run front to rear. Cruddy picture.

It's a Dolphin Industries Mod-T built around 1972 in Pompano Beach, FL. It sits on full length chassis and had a fully enclosed boat tail. I have one and have located about 6 others along east coast. They also produced more dune buggy looking models on shortened chassis - the Peanut and the Cricket (a PU version of the Peanut).

Looks like a Berry Mini T by the one photo shown. Did you look at DuneBuggyArchives.com?

PostPosted: Sun Mar 23, 2014 6:15 pm    Post subject: Tow'd? Reply with quote

Picked it up today. No plate by the pedals, and I don't know much about the Tow'd or Tow'dster. I know there were a few knockoff's and any help would be appreciated. Printed out the forms and mailed it in to Winnie Meyers today, but the site says it could take a few weeks for them to get back to me. As anxious as I am to find out, any ability to rule out one model or another would certainly be appreciated while I wait for the word from the true expert (Winnie).

Thanks!!

I'm posting one photo, and then a link to the rest of the photos.

Some type of T buggy (and there aren't that many) but not a Berry Mini T4 because they where rounded where the windshield met the body, and had a more sculpted dash. Action Glass and Perfect Plastics both made a T buggy for full length pan that was flat where the windshield met the body.

Very nice! It looks like a Tow'd except for the dash. Considering all the other work though, that might be modified. So....not sure what it is, but it is definitely not a Fiberjet Sandhopper. I have one of those and the frame is very different. In any case, yours is a beauty.

Here is a rescue. Would like to know who some possible manufacturers would be?
I hauled it in from south Arkansas.
It has been rednecked to death, obviously lots of owners who liked to cut and drill; plus a dash full of switches.

Under the spray paint there is a thick gel coat over grey and black speckle paint, perhaps it was factory painted?
Very plain body with two scoop-like formations on the hood.

I'm not sure when or where it was built, it is on a shortened '66 pan.
If its identified as a "nothing special" body ill probably just make a play toy out of it.
If its a body of more value then I will try to sell it to someone with appropriate restoration skills, I've never performed fiberglass work.
Anyway any suggestions are appreciated and maybe I will have some questions and intertainment for y'all in a build thread in about 2 years or so.
