Im building an extra long block as a replacement for my current 61 1200 judson . The case is a 64 w/ 64 heads w/ stud upgrade. Cam shaft is stock +2 . This is going to be a judson 6v period correct 40 hp . Any suggestions plesase: stock reground , engle 100 ect...? Thanks

The stock cam will work just fine. The engle 110 may have a little too much overlap for the super charger.

Are you doing anything to lower the compression ratio?

Have been running premium fuel w /MM oiller so far with out any detonation problems so far but the old 1200 was pretty tired when the judson was first installed. I will do a little math before assembly time with deck height and cyl . head cc/volume on replacement engine. Ive only been able to find reground cams in stock for 1200 . Any thoughts on those. Thanks

the best guy for info on these is John moxon from england. i installed one on my wifes 63 beetle back in 1969 and loved it. i will find his info and get back to you on this. an engle 100 would do good in my opinion.

found John Moxon! his user name on the samba is John Moxon. Wink
