the threaded end goes through the clutch arm and the cable is fed around the pulley

Hi

Creative sell an off the peg kit here. They had to develop it for there airbag beams. It (as is most stuff in the UK) is not cheap, but knowing them it will work well. I guess you could source the items in the states and make your own.

Here is the link

Hope this is of interest.

That looks decent, but you have to crawl under the bus to check or fill the fluid? I don't doubt the Wilwood slave cylinder is awesome. I'm only using the cheap-o one for now because I happened to have it.

Stupid idea and not nearly has high end but why couldn't you use the master cylinder mount from a junk bus and a typical brake master cylinder and just use pipe plugs for the holes your not using? I imagine this would be way cheaper overall and would make the clutch pedal work like the brake pedal?

One more time...the clutch arm at the transmission needs about 1 3/8" throw. A pull type slave sylinder needs about 1 3/8" throw to properly match the travel of the throwout bearing arm. When the clutch pedal is depressed to the floor the clutch master cylinder must move enough fluid to move the slave cylinder about 1 3/8". Granted, some of the mismatch can be taken up by the adjustments on the clutch pushrod and slave cylinder. If you find a brake M/C to do this fine but a new MATCHING M/C is only $43. Note that newer cars with mid engines use hydraulic clutches.

I have a stretched Type 2 ( roughly 3 feet) and I am looking at my options for a clutch cable set up. The previous owner had used 2 cables and made a funky thing to attch both in the center of the chassis. I was thinking of possibly converting to a hydraulic set up but not sure of the work involved or what products to use. I am open to all suggestions.

When a project like this taken on. I don't think budget is a cosideration when trying to make things work.
A complete bolt on kit can sometimes be the lowest cost in the long run.
