Before you dump a lot of money on running gear, get that sucker media-blasted with something like crushed glass (not sand) so you can see how much of the metal can be saved. The lower nose panel is pretty bad, the front floor is gone, and probably things like the dog legs, rockers, outriggers, and some of the cargo floor halves are in bad shape. Don't forget to check out the bottom of the doors. Then you can decide if you can afford to fix it up, depending on how bad the body is. _________________ Don't worry; be happy. (Baba) |

make the body solid, then go through the rest the way you want to,no matter how fresh your brake components are, they aint stopping shit if the master cylinder breaks off the body! _________________ 1962 Turkis Westfalia so34.

Hmmm get that front floor in first fool.
brake master cy $29.00
front hoses $10.00 each
front shoes $36.50 set
wheel cy front $26 each there 4 in the front
rear hoses $8.75 each
rear shoes 29 set
rear wheel cy 10 each
There a ruff shot at some of the stuff. Man just start stripping out some of the more important metal. And start saving up for some funky green metal. And invest in some better beer for your helpers lol. _________________ Jonathan

Your vin appears to be 386xxx, which would make it September, not August of '58. Does anyone know what vin the pressed bumper cutoff was? I know some very early '59s like this had all-white pressed bumpers. |
