So i placed an order for 165/45-15 fronts and 205/65-15 rears, but they called and said the fronts were back ordered, so i canceled so i could figure out what i wanted for the front....

i've been trying to read about what works for the front on lowered cars, but theres so many combinations out there that i'm getting overwhelmed with all the info. I've got a 2" narrowed adj. beam up front and empi 5.5" 8spoke wheels on this '69, but it's got early fenders.

Really trying to avoid rubbing issues and tire selection is critical.

I've read about smart car tires.... ?
please help! this is pretty time sensitive - so quick help would be fantastic Surprised

165/45/15s are for LOW BUSES and even then you need to be low for them to be necessary.

for bugs take your pick........
145/65/15
165/60/15
175/55/15

165/45/15s would have been a mistake on a balljoint car. you would have been dragging you panhead often and had fendergap from the tiny sidewall. i had 145/65/15 on the front of my 66. if they would have been available i would have ran 165/60/15. with a balljoint set up you need a TALLER sidewall and do more of your lowering via suspension. and i can tell you as of 3 days ago i know tires-easy AND tirerack both had both of those sizes in stock ready to ship...ken....

I think i've decided on 175/55R15 and 195/65R15 Kumho Solus tires..

so there shouldn't be any problems with clearance in the rear with empi 8 spokes and a swingaxle trans?

If you really want to go with 165/45R15, I have 23 of them in stock at $68 each plus shipping. They're the Federal Formoza FD1

I'm looking at your post here granted its from 2011
I have a 65 with a stock width beam
Im thinking of going to 165/45/15 but not sure how it will look or will it work with a stock width beam and its an adjustable beam
any input would be appreciated

Thanks Phil

Not good. What rims u got? How low?

I'd say 145/65

As said before 165/45's are for supa low buses otherwise stay away.

I've seen numerous bugs with the 165/45's they DO NOT look right.
