Been a little while since I posted some picture on the project. Just been trying to prep for paint. Lots of sanding and making sure lines are straight. But on some sprayable polyester yesterday and i know I'm getting close to see color.
So much media still in the body from media blasting I have no idea how to get rid of it.

It's looking really good bro.....
I'm having the same problem with reminants of walnut shell media!! Lots of air is about the only way to effectively remove any remaining media

Haven't done anything for a while but I should be seeing some color soon after what we did yesterday. We will begin to wet sand next.
Found out something very interesting. I have a twofold original rag, I ordered a rear tension bar accordingly which came with 9 threaded studs on it. Well my car has 11 incased nuts in the roof. After some research by my buddy Murray out in Texas of DLK VW Club he was able to help me out. Apparently some 1955 rag tops were 2 fold. Also the pre May of 1956 rags not all the corners were round. So to make a long story short my car has a rounded front and square rear corners. you learn something new every time.

It's been a while since I posted but I been working on the car slowly. Changed up a few things and put some base coat paint on the car.
Changes bolts and washers on the Jaycee retainers
Put in some quick release pins in the deck lid and some things from JBE.
I'm using fiber glass bumpers, so to get that clean look I don't want the bolts showing after I paint them.
Needed two extra gauges and was torn on where to put them. There is a column mount in production but until them this is perfect for me.
Finally there is layers of base coat going on after we wet sanded the bug to a shine.
