I thought the logo was casted in the glass?

And what was your question?

no question. just stating about the zwitter only lens. you almost never see them and i figured most people dont even know about them. my 53 has them and i know of another 52 with them. they are harder to find than the speedometer or dome light

I had read on a european site a while ago that the etched version were a short run after the first batch of hearts were used up. Yes likely on a zwitter, but not the first ones. Checked Progressive refinements and it shows nothing of a change?

I had always heard that the Hassia brand lenses were early also, of course Progressive Refinements often leaves more questions than answers, interesting that both the etched and moulded Hella lenses carry the "snake number" K1495, and the Hassia Lens has number K1512

I have. November 4,1952 zwitter I bought in 1974. I never had any idea about the rear tail light round lens were zwitter only with the Hella logo etched in. After reading your thread, I had to check my lens. Sure enough I guess they are the original. They are glass hella. Thanks for the information. I never stop learning.
