I have an 88 Scirocco and the CIS-E system is MUFFED UP! I am wanting to carb it anyways and i have seen where some ppl are using motor cycle side draft carbs. Is there a specific bike ppl are pulling the carbs off of?

Not sure of a motorcycle side-draft swap because most of them aren't big enough. Do you mean the side-draft Weber, Solex, or Mikuni adapted off of a car? Those can be made to work very well. This past weekend I put a single Weber on an '82 Rabbit convertible. I hated to take off the F.I., but the parts were going to cost too much for my friend to buy right now. I am pretty happy with it. Check out Redline for a place to start. Surprisingly I found the best place on his kit through J.C Whitney! It was a genuine Redline kit with a Spanish Weber. Who knew!?

i have done a few bike carbs on 8vs and 16vs. here is a bunch of info on them and the carbs you are looking for are yamaha r1 carbs late 90's early 00's they are plenty big enough for a fairly worked 16v.
