Do you really want to trust your life to cheap brake parts?

NAPA sells OK parts. I recently bought rear shoes for $16.23. Ordered them in the morning. Picked them up that afternoon.

id say
the "cheap brakes". is a oxymoron.

try this
where can i get great brakes for a low cost, (quality #1)

i personally run Raybestos. from 60s to now, all my cars.)

but DO buy by BRAND names. top names , noted for quality.
there are many.

never fleabay.

i hope you didnt run cheap brakes on this

I would consider replacing everything. 25 yrs. sitting can cause alot of problems in the brake system. Jeff

ditto that.
examine it
if it looks over 10-15 years old, it needs and overhaul.
assuming good fresh dot 3 every year or 2.
if not , less life.

1: no leaks
2: no rusted lines allowed at all.
3: old rubber lines. you joking. (kick em to the curb)
4: new MC.
5: rebuild and loaded calipers and or all wheel cylinders as the case may apply.

im putting Ghia discs on mine now. with loaded Raybestos calipers.

brake:
examine every inch.
assess age and general condition.
corrections
band aids are a no go on brakes. sorry

it might be just his words.
hopefully he meant.
where can I buy top branded brake parts and not get ripped off.
that, we all can identify with....

me , I decide:
what brand i want.?
new or rebuilt.?
then search for exactly what i want.?

I was happy with aircooled.net At least they tell you/give you the option of quality level.
cip1.com is not bad either, just don't go for the cheapest ie brazilian

Do it right the first time... use german parts (not Brazilian and certainly not chinese) for wheel cylinders. While you're there, replace your 4 rubber flex lines also. They may look OK, but if original probably aren't.

I was skimming through the forum and saw the title of this post and thought to myself, "that sounds like a question drew would post" then i looked closer haha! anyway go to bugformance, they are just a little more that kragen or autozone and actually have the right stuff, not just ONE brake hose lol

I'd suggest a good quality (DOT approved) set of braided steel brake lines to replace the rubber ones. The core of the hoses are polymer instead of rubber and won't collapse internally a few years down the road.
