I would give Bostig a call before dropping $300 on a new aftermarket throttle body. Jim can let you know if it will help, or if it's not worth the effort. Claims of 7-12HP gained from a simple bolt on part always seem kinda suspect...

I was thinking of doing the same thing, and according to Jim it should be no problem. Also it's $50 cheaper at BBK's website.

Where did you stumble upon this? Is there an article or a post on it? I'd like to learn more!

I asked Bostig about it and "it's not worth" the $300 (or $250 at JEGS). PM me if you need a new Throttle Body... I have one, never been used...fifty bucks

Who told you it wasn't worth it? What reason did they give to why?

I was emailing with Bostig, as mentioned (tried to locate the thread but couldn't find it)...It was just a cost thing really; the idea of "bang for your buck."

Please, by all means, someone try it and let us know! I just wasn't willing to spend $250... Shocked

Making modifications to the original/stock setup that is delivered by Bostig will need a dyno and changes made to the MAPP they offer, for each change you make.
Just my opinion.
A larger throttle body will allow more air into the mix.

Hi Guys,

The throttle bodies are nice for improved response, and flow better than stock. But they are expensive. Rule of thumb in the mainstream aftermarket is the first $500 usually gets you 5hp, and that's more or less right with the throttle body. Money is better spent saving for the power adders I'm slaving over that will be ready next season. Don't deluge me with questions, it takes me away from dev. Smile

You do not need a retune to run the throttle body. Since it's a MAF based system is can account for changes like this. If it was a MAP/Speed density system, you would need a retune for that change.

Cheers,

Jim Akiba
