Just to clarify, Herman does not make them with speaker holes. I'm having jigs made up so you can do it yourself if desired. _________________ 69 Fastback Build

Does the late model have a cutout for the speaker hole (since it uses the separate plastic grille)? Or do I cut that out? |

Just finished installing my dash from Retrovan. I think it looks pretty good. Takes a few tweaks (trimming and drilling) but nothing that is hard to do. I wish I had a good heat gun to shape it in a couple of places. My wife's hair dryer was not hot enough. Overall very happy with the product.

I finally took delivery of 10 jigs.
I'm a little frustrated with the whole thing as they were machined with 2mm holes instead of 2.5mm like the first run of 1 was.
Contemplating what to do. I went through enough trouble getting them made, so it will be a total PITA to get them redone in 2.5mm. I started drilling one of them out by hand to 2.5mm, but it will take forever to do them all. IDK, maybe 2mm holes will look ok for some of you? Or pass on the 2.5 drilling, I have a bunch of 2.5mm bits I intended to ship with them.

Man, you gotta hate it when shit like that happens...
WTH?
Whoever gave a 'first piece' on that run of parts should be in trouble.
Saving grace might be that when you go to drill your dash holes, you can just use the correct bit anyways when you do it... _________________ Bus Motor Build

Just go with the 2mm, but leave a center bar undrilled.

I am seeing the first sign of cracks in my OEM dash, so I'll be looking for a late ('71) style LHD as well. |

OK, Guys, the Dash's are being made, they are in progress, and just need to be trimmed, and QC'ed.
We are making all 3 types at the same time, so the RHD std , LHD std as well as the LHD wraparound will be on the shelve at the same time.
Should be ready to go by next week Friday.
Will drop a post here on this thread when ready.
