Ercse Racing, This is totally off the topic, but I certainly recognize the car in your avatar. I know you were there when Andy, on his 35th B-Day, oh-so-carefully, cut the engine out of the Birthday cake I brought... and one of my happiest moments, was taking the unbound, untrimmed copy of "The Sundance Kid" to DQ (Now Nicks) to Tom and Andy, while humming the tune to "Sanford and Son"
Hard to believe it's been a tiny bit over 10 years since he passed away...I still have part of the dash of a certain Guacamole Green Fastback I brought home (with Fred's blessing) from Wittman. _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

Im sure you know my dad John Ercse?
I think this is Dave Cormack?
It is hard to believe Andy is gone.. But all the pictures of him in my dads house brings him back to life again. When I bought my 67 bug a few months ago the first think I did was put a "In Memory of Andy Costello" sticker in the back window... Every time I look in my mirror I see it and mannn.. Where would Andy be today? Crazy |

Yes, I thought this was John. I saw the "Ercse Racing" and the Ben Pada/Andy Costello Pro Stock, and figured it was.
I still have my "In Memory of Andy Costello" decal, my 2 "Andy Shirts" that I only wear if I KNOW I am not going to get them greasy, and I, too, miss Andy terribly. What a class act he, and actually, the whole Costello family is !!
I understand Evan is almost 16.... time to get your dad and Tommy to resurrect the old German Auto "Red Sled" and stick Evan in the driver's seat.... _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

Evan just turned 16. Andy's mom made 3 DVD's for us consisting of some of Andy's racing and they were awesome. From what Tom said, Evan isn't in a hurry to get his license, but he needs too! Tom is bringing the car to Fontana on the 9th of October for Andy's induction to the PRA Hall of Fame. I cant wait! |

| Can't say the manufacturer, but the 'glass lid definitely dates back to the late '60s or early '70s. There are pictures of cars using that lid in scattered early copies of Hot VWs magazine. |
