I'm assuming that it hasn't been used yet, due to the fact that you won't find it in any stores, unless, it's an aviation supply house.
The sealant is called Pro-Seal made by Flamemaster Corp. Pro-Seal is made for many different configurations, but the part number of the stuff I use is CS3204 B2.
In the world of helicopters, Pro-Seal is used for sealing windows, transmissions, engines, ect. Virtually everything that requires sealing. It's also considered an adhesive. When assembling structures, a lot of times it's used in between two pieces of metal prior to riveting. It's also used for sealing up fuel tanks. If it's used to stop leaks with Jet-A, it's gotta work for WBX leaks...
Do I work for Flamemaster...It may sound like I do, but no.  I've just used it for a LOT of different applications and the stuff is incredibly durable and remains pliable.
If I end up rebuilding a WBX, I'm pretty certain it's the sealant I will use, unless someone can provide me with facts on why I shouldn't.

Unless you like going back and fixing problems, then you should stick with want has been proven by others. Not sure where you want to use this sealant, but just because it works on aircraft fuel tanks doesn't mean it will work on WBXer head gaskets or anywhere else.
Personally I would just use whatever someone like Tencentlife recommends and uses. |

The product you are refering to sounds like Sikaflex.
While it kicks ass in the construction field, I don't think it is what you want to seal heads with it.
Permatex "the right stuff" sealant is excellent for waterboxer heads. |

I am familiar with sikaflex and would agree that it isn't the right product for the job. Proseal was made as an aircraft sealing product & adhesive that works very well in a wide variety of temperatures and pressures. I can assure you that it's a far better product then any Permatex products you'll buy at the store.
If I ever meet you guys in person. I will demonstrate the product. |
