Every year before they would tell me to just show up because they always have plenty of room but this is a different week-end now plus I believe the word is out now about Nova being the place to stay so I would at least call "em.

The one time I did the cross Country trip and Floriduh show tour, I got a spot at NOVA. No issues at all from reserving, getting there and to the reserved spot, to no issues with overly "ruly" campground personnel, i.e. can't do this or stay away from that, etc. Plus it was fairly close to all the happenings. If I ever do the trip again, NOVA will be considered first! Do go ahead and contact them ahead of time though. Good luck! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

NEWS FLASH!!
I'd like to announce that Steak n' Shake at the corner of International Speedway Blvd and Nova Rd will be the finish line for the Lo' Cash Navigational Nationals and location of the Saturday night cruise-in during No Dough weekend. I'm sure most everyone here is familiar with the Steak n Shake brand, but for those who aren't they have really great burgers, sandwiches, salads, chili and my favorite, MILK SHAKES!! There's lots of room for dining in or you'll be able to get your meal to go and hang out in the parking lot with the cars.
The parking lot also serves a small strip mall so it's quit large and has great lighting at night. The management team at Steak n Shake are really excited to be a part of the No Dough weekend and we are glad to have them as part of the team. While in the Daytona area be sure to show some love and visit their restaurant.
This also makes a great time to make a first post about the return of the Lo Cash Navigational Nationals. For those that don't know, this is a driving event open to all cars (not just VWs) where teams take to the streets of Port Orange and Daytona and follow simple driving directions to reach the finish line. Along with these simple directions there are questions to answer and the answers will be found along the route. The team with the most correct answers wins. Simple right?
For 2012 there are few changes:
1) This years rally will be totally FREE to all teams but we are limiting the total number of teams to 100. Since VW people are notoriously cheap and this is FREE we expect to get a full 100 teams. So if you're serious about running the rally we advise you to pre-register by sending an email to [email protected]. Please include your first and last name and put "Nav Rally" in the subject line.
2) First prize will be $100 cash money!! A Benjamin! A C-note!! Rather than give away a navigation unit like years past we figured good old cash would be cool. Also plaques will be given out for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place and there may be VW related merchandise/prizes from our sponsors.
3) The rally will begin at No Dough Bus Show located at Port Orange City Center and end at Steak n' Shake on the corner of International Speedway and Nova Rd. There will be a registration tent at No Dough. All teams will need to check in there and if this is your first time we can tell you what to expect... sort of.
4) There will NOT be a prize raffle this year. I know, I know, but we just didn't have time to make this happen but we look forward to bringing the raffle back next year.
5) We will be offering dash plaques featuring our poster art by George Trosley but you MUST request one in advance by email. We will only make enough to cover these requests and maybe a few extra. Send to [email protected] and please put "Nav Rally" in the subject line.
That covers the changes. Other than that everything else will be about the same.
As before we have hired George Trosley to design our poster and tee shirt art. Because we are making the rally free this year, tee shirt quantities will be pretty limited so if you want to pre-order them you need to send an email to [email protected]. Pleae put "Nav Rally" in the subject line.
I'll post sponsor info in a couple of days and once we get the poster art finalized I'll post that also.
Thanks and we look forward to this years fun!! _________________ www.LoCashRacing.org
