I recently picked up a 1962 barn find beetle with a 40hp i believe 65 engine in it. Any tips or tricks to get a little.more out of such a gutless wonder?

Cause the first digit on the case is a 9 so i suspect its a 65...... Just a little cruiser not looking to run it down the drag strip or anything

83mm P&C kit will increase the displacement to 1385cc and will give about a 25% horsepower increase and makes for a great cruiser and a good long lived engine. |

Stroke it, you can put a 1600 crank in it some how, but I can not remember what you do for rods.

My buddy and i are thinking like a small turbo off a motorcycle or geo....... Not really going for huge amounts of boost just mostly for looks and a small amount of performance.
