hi, i just picked up a 65 the other day.... 1st VW. my 10 year old has been goin crazy over bugs and buses for a while and its wore of on me a bit. car has no motor and some rust ( driver side pan and inside heater channels mostly) someone along the way repainted it the wrong color green and its had new seats and carpet at some point.
im sure i'll be askin tons of questions along the way. plans are to give it a lil patina look, airride, roof rack and new interior... oh and a motor lol!
heres a few pics

Looks like a good candidate to me.
Just sell that Honda in the background of this pic...
And use the $$$$ for the Vw...

Whoever put those gravel guards on the front fenders, put them on incorrectly. |

It needs a bit of love, but it's in decent shape. Good luck with it! _________________ Henry |

thanx guys!
the honda isnt mine, doin a lil work on it for a friend. (bigger turbo, front mount intercooler, and lowering a bit more). definitely not my style but lil extra cash never hurts!
it'll be a lil bit before i go full on with this car, i have to finish up my current project and im building a frame for a local guy.
here's a pic of my ford project

Like the Ford truck. Take your time on the VW and seems like you are gonna do it right the first time. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

any tips on where to look for a motor, either local or fairly close by.... i have nothing so need something in a turn key or close to type set up. not really lookin for performance, rather have dependability and easy breezy type stuff
i was told this car was switched to 12v and had a 1600 before i got it so im figuring to go that route again.... or something similar |

Have you tried looking at any local craigslist ads or for local vw shops?
Maybe junk yards/pick-a-part? _________________ ✠Miklo✠
