I have Porsche Fuchs and a 4" narrowed beam on my 66 beetle. My trailing arms and ball joints are rubbing like hell. I've tried grinding the arms and ball joints but I'm not sure when enough is enough. If I raise my car the problem is corrected, however, I want my car slammed!!! Any suggestions or assistance with my dilemma? And please don't tell me to raise my car....There has to be another option...lol Very Happy

How bad is it?

I've never seen it so bad that you cant just grind off a little material on the arms/balljoint.

Have any pics?

He probably already does, adding dropped spindles makes it worse.

Stupid question, but did you adjust the steering stop bolts on the bottom of the steering box ? That will limit the turning radius and hopefully stop the rubbing...just a thought before you go spending more money!

I don't think I would be grinding on the ball joints that are already operating way past their design specs!

You need to space the wheel out.

The problem is you are trying to run modified parts that were never meant to work together.

Gonna grind a little bit more and if that doesn't work i'll go with the wheel spacers. I'll lose a little tuck but at least i'll roll without rubbing Evil or Very Mad

With the adjusters all the way down my car won't roll because the trailing arms are sitting on my rims

you can make the lower ball joint stem seat deeper into the spindle.

cut the stem off of a ball joint, weld it to a piece of straight steel rod, put the rod end into place in a drill as you would a bit.

use your new tool with some lapping compound on the ball joint stem to open up the spindle so the ball joint stem seats deeper.
