how well does the stock 36hp fuel pump work on modified motors?

are the LSR guys still running stock pumps? are you using the stock spring or a judson spring?

any other issues that need to be looked at with the pump for this sort of use?

your experiences from period twin 28 PCI's to full tilt LSR motors would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
henry.

I use a late (59/60) fuel pump with the Judson spring in my modified WW Okrassa kited 1192 engine with the WW carbs. I can run it up to 6500 rpm's without any fuel issues. The carbs are my limitation on RPM's. They are coming off and getting modified for more fuel and air at higher rpm's, hope to get more revs out of them, then I might have a fuel delivery issue

I don't know about racers, but I know it's pretty common to hide an electric fuel pump and remove the insides of the stock pump. I know of at least one car that you would never guess has this mod.

You would have to leave the diaphragm or put a plate in place other wise it would pump fuel into the block. I'm running a electric fuel pump on my IDA 36 hp engine and will do this to a stock pump.

I have an 1620 cc Okrasa engine with 81 hp and an original late 36 hp fuelpump. The pump is from -59-60 and they have a litle better flow and pressure. The -59-60 pumps are around 5 mm higher on the top where the outlet is so they are easy to recognice from the rest Very Happy
