you can make that 2 air-cooleds, I can't afford to take the family to E-town with gas, tolls, food and thier admission price. _________________ 71,super,74 std , 71 westy, 78 champagne, 79 cmc royal sierra tow machine for the fleet, OCOD |

Hey Andy - It's Tim. I plan on stopping out at Campbelltown on Sunday. I will stop by and check out the progress on the woodie. No bug - still working on the motor. Sorry that you will miss Volksfest on April 28 at the Ren Faire. |

I did pm the promoter and he did say it's both air and water cooled vehicles. I'm not a big Etown fan, and I like the drive west to Ctown, so I'm going to give this show a chance with my aircooled. If I'm the only one there, so be it.. it's supposed to be a nice day! |
I have a feeling it will be a nice laid back "show", but I am looking for some parts, so I will likely be headed to E-town, where I feel more vendors will be. _________________ My Rides

I was debatin this show. But some factors that made my final decision...
*$30.00 vendin....used to be $10-$15
*This show is tomorrow and this thread hasn't seen a post since Tuesday?
*Englishtown is same weekend. I've been to Campbelltown for 10 yrs....we all know how large of a crowd that comes from NJ.
*With all aircooled headin to NJ, that leaves what has been slowly takin over at Campbelltown...kids in watercooled cars havin a stereo competition durin the show then tearin up the grass as they leave.
Not that I don't want to support a local fire company.
Maybe a lil better plannin and they can have a nice, small show there, again. _________________ Volkswagen Locksmith

Eh.. 50% chance of t-storms all day. In a vehicle that doesn't have the greatest outward vision to begin with, that's a show killer for me. Have fun to those that are still going! |

Yeah - we wimped out because of the rain. I drove the woodie through an hour long cloudburst last summer and never again. Forgot how good the defrost is when its pouring........ _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

It turned out to be a decent show....mainly water cooled, but some nice air cooleds showed up. The swap meet wasn't the huge swap that the original C-town had, but I found a few things to buy. |

Big ass show. The show had a fair amount of aircooled with many aircooleds in parking (sissies, $5 to show & you park in the lot?). Tons of watercooled cars & some seriously awesome cars (silver mkiv w widened smoothies), swap was good. Small, but awesome stuff. Try to find NOS early window scrapers anywhere, found em & bought em. No rain.
This show is the future. Good job Jason, hopefully there is a plan for next year in the works.
Good job sponsors. |

Great turn out. We will work out some kinks. A couple areas are getting more aircooled and keeping them in there own area, not sure how that will work but its a thought. Also some venders were afraid the show would be smaller then it was (300 cars). about (1000 people). They vowed to be there next year. More raffles prizes and some better communication. But it was a good first show the right vibe. Next year we will go deeper into the feilds and change around the judging a little. |

Gotta question - talked to a couple folks that were there - is it a "anything that shows up can show" or is it going to be strictly VW/Audi next year. I understand it was first year and there are always glitches. Thanks _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

Great show had a good time and met some cool new people. I personally like the air/water mix I get tired of all the air cooled whineing most of us own both anyway. _________________ 71,super,74 std , 71 westy, 78 champagne, 79 cmc royal sierra tow machine for the fleet, OCOD |

the hondas and bmws and minis were a nice touch on the showfield.
rumor had it, that a honda won some sort of award? awesome "vw" show. i thought the tuner show was the week after this was being held. maybe i was wrong.
good writeup in the paper... highlighting the beer bottles being used to prop hoods open too. sweet. damn waterkewl'd kidz anyhow. |
