I started swirling the intakes. This will help with atomization.
I have been talking about upping my carbs from 44IDF (sell them) and step up to 48's also selling these heads (40x35.5) and going with 42x37.5 |

I would of just added biger valves to those heads. 42x37 should fit those seats. a little too much bowel on the ex side for my likes (might of used a reverse dome piston instead)but intake side looks good. I like a 60 grit finish on the intake side.(chamber&port) nice work.getter done&have fun |

The picture above are not the heads I am using. In the image, those heads are 40x35.5.
I am starting over and using 44x37.5. Although, I do appreciate the feedback. |

Almost finished with my heads. Only a few more hours of work. Then send them back to the head shop so they they can do a valve job, install valve guides and the rest of the assembly. My goal is be at about 10.75:1 static compression. |

After a few more hours... I still only have a few more hours of work on the heads. To all you guys/gals who have never done your own head work and have snickered at the high prices of this type of craftsmanship, I urge you to try it yourself, then reconsider the prices $$$$ presented to us by the shops. At this point I have about 22 hours into my cylinder heads. |

yeah but your time is free right? LOL
High end cylinder heads have never been less expensive than right now. I remember paying $1500/pr in 1984 for a good set. That was a LOT of scratch back then..... _________________ It's just advice, do whatever you want with it!

22 hours?? thats not that much. but .....your work looks great.I think if the rest of the motor is up to this attn you will be happy with the outcome.(I would ceramic the chambers&exhaust ports&piston tops before finall assembly to keep the heat where it should be and going out the exhaust) |

Well, my heads are back from getting a valve job. And now I need to CC them. Hopefully they are close in CC's. I need to do some final touches b/c they do not quite meet the status quo. since I sent them off. the heads have a minimum 25 hours and still not finished. More polishing to come. |

The cracked looked is the vaseline. I used vaseline to seal the chamber when I measured it.
Not sure about the ports. I tried to do the best i could
I still have a lot of work to do to them. I am going to measure and measure and measure then maybe measure one more time. For example, I am going to measure the chambers again just to make sure. I am learning tons |

Now break the polish with a 180 cartridge roll for proper texture. |
