lol... I gotta change that " CAR IN TOW " sign.
Feel free to stop by anytime, I am usually here unless I am picking up kids from school.
It's funny with so many cars on 150, you can always tell when a VW is getting ready to go by. just that sound. _________________ ROBERT

Decided to just spraybomb the wheels at this time and use as rollers,
wanting to get it going on the road first so the extra cash can go somewhere else as needed.
After rebate tires were $58.25 Mounted
Few pics for the thread.
Nankang CX668
Painted w/ Dupli-color BUN0100 from Advance Auto, clear coated too.
ready for when I need them.

Rec'd my Brake Parts from Wolfsburg West today!
New Lines, German Master Cylinder, Hoses, Grommets, and the little nuts that go on the oil cover plate. I manage to usually strip one during a change.
Decided to change out all the brake parts as its better to be safe than sorry!
|
STOP... I would HIGHLY advise against using that single circuit master cylinder.
Upgrade to a 67 and newer style, dual master for added safety. Now is the time to upgrade since your replacing.
Its just a master cylinder and resevoir change. All lines are the same.
With a single circuit, one leak, one cylinder/line blow out and you have no hydraulic brakes.
With a dual, if a failure in the hydraulics occurs, you at least have one axle either front or rear to safely stop you.
Until you slide through an intersection, wide eyed, horn blowing, yanking on the Park Brake, you may not understand...... Do it NOW for safety sake for you, the car, and everyone else around you. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Worked on the '66 today, removing old brake lines and Master Cylinder, getting ready for new lines.
Decided to go ahead and pull the motor to give some more room and dig deeper into hidden areas to see if there are any surprises...
few pics of the motor coming out.
will have to address some rust on front firewall and heater channels...goal is to get her street ready first... get inspected for title, then move forward. _________________ ROBERT

So I got the Transmission out...
I know I didn't have to take it out to do the Boots, but It needs to be checked and cleaned up plus now I can get under the package shelf area, and run the brake lines easier.

not to enjoy it for a while.
still some odds and ends to add.
