Got my tires mounted today. 145's up front, 165's in the back
***FYI*** Walmart.com has 165/80/15 available for order. Those tires costed me a cool $52 a piece plus tax
I'm pretty happy with the fitment in the rear. Now to finish the front beam so I can really see how it sits _________________ 69 Squareback

How wide are the back wheels? My dad has a pair of cragers, have to say they do look extremely nice on your squareback. _________________ "84 Vanagon

Thanks! The rears are 15x7, they were kind of a pain in the butt to run because they're zero offset, but I was too stubborn to step down to a 15x6 _________________ 69 Squareback

Sucks I can't use my dad's cragars... they're a pair of original 15x12 o'well, still looks damn nice though, wonder what it'd look like without bumpers? _________________ "84 Vanagon

Did a little clearancing in the rear over the weekend. I removed the rear shocks & once i started lowering it off the jackstands it never stopped dropping until the tires were resting on the inner fenders. So I'll either be reindexing or configuring a rear air ride setup for it. That was always my intention but there are other parts of the car i would rather tend to first _________________ 69 Squareback

Installed 5752 Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks on the rear today. Also swapped out the old calipers for new loaded ones. _________________ 69 Squareback

She's seen daylight! Took it to a car show over the weekend. This weekend was the first time getting to drive it on the road. I didn't have time to troubleshoot the headlights & brake lights so I had someone trail me there and back, which was abt a 10 mile trip from the shop to the show. The only prob I had is the distributor clamp wasn't tightened so it popped off once. It rides a little stiff but it's a good kind of stiff. It has a little bumpsteer but I think I can rid of most of it. Now back in it's corner it goes so I can finish. Getting to drive it was a great motivator.

Time to get back on this thing…it's just been sitting the past 4 mos. Spring will be here before I know it. Alternator swap, modify the gas tank, air management, and sprucing up the interior the bit is what I have in mind before spring _________________ 69 Squareback

SORRY GUYS......I've been a bit preoccupied with family stuff this year. I'm just now getting back to doing research. Ive done a few things but they're hardly worth mentioning. But, I've....
*notched the gas tank to clear the bags. Still have to fill its a step in the right direction
*rerouted the back half of the wiring harness so it no longer exits the car behind the driver's seat.
*sourced some lowback seats. I still have yet to install them
And thats about it. better than nothing i guess. My immediate checklist is as follows:
*work thru & fix all the wiring issues so i has headlights, tail/brake lights, and starts without a toggle switch for the fuel pump.
*alternator swap
*filler piece for gas tank notch
*air management
*bag the rear _________________ 69 Squareback
