The pressings you speak of are what I have described above. The side of the Seat stand as you call it is just a repeated frame liner (1 extra cut down plus the 2 usual) on all barndoor walkthru's. As this is a 51 it has the 6 pressings on the frame liners (from 52-55 they had 7). But on the other 55 barndoor walkthru's the rear longest pressings are covered by the walkthru bulkhead curving round a little.

51 6 pressing frame liner

52> 5 pressing frame liner.

In this pic of Andre's walkthru you can just make out the line of the end of the bulkhead where it's curved round covering the rear 2 pressings. I bet of you looked in the tool chest to see from the inside the pressings are all there.

interestingly on these latter walkthru's the 'wrap around' only covers the very last rear pressing on the passenger side Confused
Again I would have thought they are there if you look under the wheel arch?

Or am I wrong? Under the wheel arch this frame liner first pressing looks weird, just lowdown on Andre's. And is that curved bit a walkthru part or just a bad old repair Confused ?

ah, now I see. Andre will correct me, but I don't think his bus had many old repairs. Funny how we have now broken down barndoor walkthroughs into early and late Very Happy

Panel were Avaliable for later barndoor walkthru's to.

It looks like the panels were cut around the lower horizontal supports suggesting perhaps that in the 51 they can also tell us where at least some of the horizontal supports were located.

How so? I'm not seeing it.
look at the clasifieds there's a ton of Barndoor walk thru's for sale!

Huh? I thought we were talking about the logoed phone # on the bus? Both are 29 41 41. I'm not saying anything about the rarity of walkthru BDs.

The slider bus also appears to have Clara's style factory installed roofrack with the interior mount hardware covered by the cool hardboard headliner.

I'm not sure that's real. I agree with dude about the rear slider looking at the size of the "ice pick" handle. I think the interior pictures are real, but that the pictures of the outside is an artists rendering.

This isn't a rendering.
