Does anyone make these? Ive seen a topic or 2 before about them but cant find them now. I accidently drilled my vin tag rivets out with to big of a drill bit for some reason. Also my tag is very "weathered" and I would like a nice dent/scratch free one. Any help would be appreciated!

Those who made fake VIN tags are now making real license plates, courtesy of the state.

I remember seeing them too a while back. If I remember correctly, the ones I saw had a high polish and were very shiny. Can't remember where I saw them at. I searched all over this site and the web and can't find a thing on them. Whoever was doing them most likely got shut down due to legal reasons. _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus

Don't you find keeping as many parts from the original car part of the fun? Each to their own, but the weathered look is part of the appeal of owning a classic.
Also, you could have trouble selling your car if the VIN's have been tampered with (esp. if you're trying to sell to someone that has half an idea what they are doing). |

people that make this kind of stuff just make it easier for the loosers to steal our vw's and replace the numbers _________________ (o\ ! /o) 66 Beetle |

Check with your local police, just call and get info about your tag being weathered and removed. You could be ticketed or could get your ride towed for tampering with the VIN number. Yeah, yeah, people have done it before, but the choice is your's. _________________ '63 Beetle "Gertie"

The shiny VIN Tags you are talking about can be found at LanD Products. They are by far the best looking out there. In fact they are BADA$$!! Check out their website and don't forget to look at their hardware too. _________________ 67 t1 resto-custom
