Kubel Treffen 2012

brother ron will be delivering a thing to the thing shop in about a month so if any one needs parts from the thing shop and they are going to the Kubel Treffen run he will bring the parts with him to the run in july big or small and you can pick them up at my house or rons we are only about 30 miles from the run

I was in Phoenix for Spring Training last week and made a visit to the Thing Shop shrine. I was told they would not be visiting KubelTreffen East, or Kuebel Drive East. Anyway I bought a spare tire mount for the hood, and I just got a swing away one for the rear. I am trying to fabricate backing plates to reinforce where they mount on the body sheet-metal.

See you guys in July, I then drive to Seattle for Vintage Meet.

they will not but they will be helping with door prizes i said ron will be going to the thing shop in about a month and he can bring back any parts that anyone buys and save people on shipping since he will be taking the inclosed trailer and will have some room for parts on his way back it will be great to see sam again how many miles do you have on that thing now?

Flyers were mailed today. If you don't receive yours and would like one please contact me. Also make hotel res. as soon as possible, Baymont had 25 rooms as on today.

I made my reservation at the Elizabethtown Baymont today; the hotel had no record of the Thing Drive. Just thought you'd like to know.
She did mention that there are two other events at the hotel that weekend, so others might want to reserve soon.

I did check with the Hotel and they are full. I am working on the Ramada that is in the same parking lot. This exit has 10-12 hotels.

208 miles from my house to Elizabethtown, 4hrs 40 mins taking the back roads!!
224 miles, 3hrs 57 mins taking the interstate......
Makes me want to take the back roads, get a little gravel in my travel!!!

I'll have to wait till a little closer to see what life's going to look like at that time. Graduating school in two weeks, and beating pavement for work right now!

Any campgrounds close by the area, Full Hookup style? I'll pull the Thing down, set up a base camp and run the heck out of the Thing.

Few spots that we will be traveling, Kentucky Railway Museum and train ride, Glendale KY, and Swope Auto Museum. As it gets closer and I have a better count on cars and people I will be laying out the weekend plans. Dennis, big brother will have his temp guage so any one that wants to see how their car is running and compare to others will be offered.

Just trying to confirm dates, location, etc?

Thought it's suppose to be in Hiawassee again this year, but from reading has it moved back to Elizabethtown,Ky?

eaker02 hope you decide to join us for a drive, same great people, lot of fun, don't need to worry if your car is clean. Would love to have someone plan a Fall drive or host a show next year. I will be glad to help anyway I can. Have it in your town and you won't have as far to drive. Now if anyone is planning on coming to Kubel Treffen 2012 Drive please let me know so I can make better reservations at some of the stops

Is that next Fri? Guess I better get busy. Big brother is heading out with me in the morning to make the final drive to be sure the roads are ready for all these Things. We are running 25 cars from 9 states. The 100+ temps will be gone and looks like we will be in the upper 80's. I will have the final plans on the website kubeltreffen181.com after tomorrow.
