Anyone that ever has had IDF webers has experienced a clogged idle jet a time or two. It can be a pain, ....snap, crackle, pop, out of the exhaust. CB Performance makes a kit that solves the problem of the clogged idle jet, but I thought I would share the MURZ version(cheap).
first I bought some 3/16 brake line with standard flare fittings. Next I cut them in half and removed the nuts. I then added little 1/4 delerin spacers with a oring to top it all. The oring may have to be omitted depending on how deep YOUR carb top is.
Next I mounted the brake lines in a vise and slotted the bell mouth flares.
The carb top has to be removed along with stacks, air filter base, etc. The five slotted flat head screws are taken out and the carb top comes right off. Be careful with the carb to body gasket as it is fragile.
With a 3/16 drill, enlarge the idle circuit breather holes. Now loosely bolt the carb top, air filter base, and base to carb top gasket. Drill again through the idle circuit breather holes as this is where the snorkels will exit. Disassemble this assembly again and insert the snorkel assembly, aka brake line, through the carb top. Make sure the snorkels are fully seated.
Reassemble the carb and that is it. If this process takes you more than 15 minutes a carb, you are doing something wrong...:laughing:
No more clogged jets......... _________________ 62 vert

Murzi,
You do realize that the air passage is offset from where your vent tubes are. There not right inline.
That is why on the CB one's there is a slot cut in the base of the vent tube to allow the air to flow to the passage in carb body.
Still a good idea what you have designed. _________________ Joseph
