Very fast shipping, thank you. The only problem i had was the german "Zoll", where i must pick up the part and pay $56 tax. They said a bill of sale must be viewable on the outside of the paket and it would sent directly to me. |

Marco,
Thank you for the information on the German requirements. I will take note of your experience.
The U.S.POSTAL SERVICE workers often tell me that the "Bill of Sale" is no longer required and "just an extra step", simply not needed.
Perhaps I should take just one more step and remember there may be other requirements, elsewhere!
Thank you for the information,
Tom _________________ Thank You,

No Problem, you couldn't know that. For me it was also new. The tax must always be payed, but with a bill of sale in a transparency outside the paket, you can pay it to the postman i think. |

I just concluded a great transaction with Tom. He found an early ring and pinion in his stash, communicated well through email, and gave me a very fair price. The parts were well packed and marked on the outside, went through customs smoothly, and arrived in Canada in four business days! Be aware that he travels a lot but will come through for you if he has the part you need. I would recommend him highly. _________________ Stop worrying about how much your car will be worth when you are dead and build it to make you happy! |

I am with much regret leaving negative feedback and a warning to others about Tom Schwendeman. I received only a portion of what I paid for, I was told I would be messaged when Payment arrived and I was not,I was told I would be given a tracking number when shipped and I was not Tom did say in message I will save it all for you meaning the parts in the photo and The ad stated I quote "This is the complete set up from a 1964 Notchback.
I have not dismantled it to say with certainty...but it was said to have new wheel cylinders and shoes when it was parked.
Photo of item in ad includes, pedal assembly, master cylinder,spindles and drums, rubber bump stops and more
He sent spindles and drums only and denies that ad was for more and has not been willing to pay for return shipping or to send rest of purchased items, I have 29 saved messages and you can view the ad for yourself and be the judge of whether it is for spindles and drums or complete brake setup as the description and photo show and I invite tom to deny any of my statements so I can copy and paste our emails and you can see for yourself how this man operates and the lack of integrity in regards to handling this honestly and properly

Robert has refused the refund I offered.
It is unfortunate when there is a gap in communication and a misunderstanding develops. This can happen to honest people, and does.
Robert is disappointed. I understand and I offered a refund.
This misunderstanding is about what is included in a Front Brake and Spindle set (both in usual practice, or by an ads description). In an attempt to bring clarity, I reactivated the ad listing so that Robert could read the description again. It seemed fair.
I promptly shipped the required two boxes(each weighing thirty two pounds/64lbs. total) containing exactly what was listed in the ad; Front Brake Set Type 3 Wide Five-with Spindles. The ad noted that it was a complete set(of front brakes and spindles). It did not list other parts as part of the offer.
The payment arrived by mail on Thursday afternoon. The spindles were well packed and double boxed before shipping Friday morning(21 hours from payment to shipper). The Front Brake and Spindle Set should have arrived complete and in good order.
The two thirty two pound boxes should have included the brake drums; backing plates; wheel cylinders; Brake shoes and hoses; Brake hardware; Grease caps; Tie Rod Brackets. I cannot imagine how it arrived incomplete.
The customer claims that;
1)I only sent the spindles, makes no mention of the other items in the box.
and
2) that I owed him all of the unrelated items in the picture
and
3)and owe one item neither mentioned or pictured( a master cylinder);,
and
4)and that if I did not send very item he demanded that he would;
a) post negative feedback
b) expose me as a fraud.
The demand list includes a master cylinder; a clutch and brake pedal cluster set; a steering box; rubber stops for the rear suspension and a number of the other items visible in one of the three pictures.
It is news to me that front brake and spindle sets are expected to include
steering boxes or master cylinders. I am sorry that anyone thought such a thing. I never imagined this as a possibility. But honest people have gaps in communication. I think it is fair to accept this gap, and offer a solution.
I continue to offer a refund, but the message is clear; Robert said he is going to do damage if he does not get what he demands (much more than FRONT BRAKE AND SPINDLE SET).
I am sad that I did not sell them to the other interested party.
I would like to refund payment for the spindle set so that Both Robert and the other customer can be happy.
Robert. If this was not what you thought you were buying, then return the set for a complete refund. It is not a problem. _________________ Thank You,

Robert contacted me as well.
Note that I deleted the ad when notified as the parts were reported to be sold but it was still running on the site.
Ad:
Quote: |
Front Brakes Set Type 3 Wide Five-with spindles
This is the complete set up from a 1964 Notchback.
I have not dismantled it to say with certainty...but it was said to have new wheel cylinders and shoes when it was parked. |
My opinion is the ad is confusing. There are parts pictured in the ad that were not included or described in the text but also not explicitly stated to not be included. The ad could be read as front brake parts only or seen as everything that was pictured, even though some of them are not front end parts.
There is no master cylinder listed or shown in the ad.
My opinion is the transaction should be reversed from both ends, although I can see some issue returning the parts since these parts are quite heavy. _________________ How to Post Photos

Tom please show where you left message when payment arrived as promised and then please show where you provided a tracking number as promised,Then please explain what your message "I will save it all for you" meant...When you say you offered a refund go ahead and tell them you wanted me to ship the item back on my dime and wait for repayment,Why would I want to trust you now..Your ad was misleading to say the least and if You had emailed when payment arrived and had given a tracking number as promised and had not sent a message "I will save it all for you" This would have been simple to work out however YOU never kept your word with me from day one, I can see why you use a postage box the way you do business,I am done here I wasted enough time with you and this transaction ... |

In hindsight, do understand the picture could be confusing, and that sometimes words are too. I reactivated the listing, so that the exact words and picture would be available, without the burden of memory.
The email;
"I will save it all", was in the context of the following;
I had told Robert that I had one buyer contact me for spindles and another for brakes. I could get more money breaking up the set.
Robert let me know he wanted ALL OF The Front Brake Set with Spindles. I agree to sell Robert all of the Front Brake Set with Spindles. He really needed the Front Brake Set with Spindles. At his request, I even reduced the price.
I also disappointed two other buyers with my sale to Robert. If Robert is not happy with the purchase, I would love to have the Front Brake Set with Spindles back. I would love to make three people happy.
I am sorry that I did not take a fresh picture of the "FRONT BRAKE SET WITH SPINDLES". The original 2012 listing had offered the other parts. At some point a request was made to show the backing plate side of the brakes and I posted the picture to clarify, not confuse. It was my oversight that I did not take a fresh shot of The Front Brake Set with Spindles. _________________ Thank You,

I certainly did acknowledge arrival of payment and that the package was ready to ship , both in the same email.
Robert is correct that I failed to provide tracking numbers as promised.
However, failure to provide a tracking number is not a case of fraud, but usually an oversight or an inconsideration. My amends for this egregious oversight.
It appears that the Front Brake set with Spindles are now included in the samba listing #1767320 1965 Variant-S project which Robert is offering for sale.
They are offered as correct for the car,and I am willing to vouch for this fact.
The complete Front Brake Set with Spindles did arrive fully assembled and included;
Dust caps
Bearings
Hoses and lines
Brake drums
Backing Plates
Brake shoes with hardware
Wheel cylinders
Spindles
Tie rod brackets _________________ Thank You,

Robert,
Your Money order arrived yesterday(along with several pieces of overdue mail).
The spindles are packed and FedEx will deliver them to your address.
Thank you for asking,
Tom
Your ad was deleted and deemed as confusing to say the least, I did not receive all the items I seen pictured in the ad and you in your own words said they were once available as a group as they were still pictured What I got from you I could have received from another seller for less money. Let this go or give me a address where we can deal with this in person because the more you keep opening your mouth the more pissed I am getting over this....You are a crook Period ! If you had any integrity you would say I am sorry Yet you keep justifying your ad and the way you handled it |

Robert,
I am sorry for the misunderstanding. It is both unfortunate and unintentional. I believe that you did not get exactly what you wanted, and that you are owed a complete refund and an amends. I have continually offered to accept for return,the Front Brake Set with Spindles, and pay shipping both ways. This stands as my amends for the problem and my willingness to work toward resolve.
Since you are unwilling to return the Front Brake Set with Spindles for a refund, I question your motive in bashing me. It appears that you are selling the same set as part of your samba listing #1767320.
It is unfortunate that words can be ambiguous. I think we both try very hard to be clear and unambiguous. When I fail, I offer my amends, and a refund. Please accept my amends and please return the parts for a refund.
If you do wish to keep the spindles, the negative feedback will not help you sell your car. I would like to post that the Front Brake Set with Spindles are correct for your car. The good feedback is useful.
Robert Murry; Please let me know what you want from me, so that this is resolved. If it is fair and reasonable, I will likely be willing.
Thank you,
