It's not 2012 yet.
But, yeah, I'm looking forward to marking the next one down on my calendar... I plan to be there this time! _________________ ~Kamz

Hey Johnny Maw,
Any thoughts on the 2012 Solstice dates?
Sure had a great time last year and cannot wait to come play with the Syncro this coming year.
Hope you and your family have a great holiday season.

My wife was just asking me if there was any talk of SS 2012 on the Samba. When I told her no there wasn't, she said, "you better get on there and ask, it's only six months away". I think she had a pretty good time, you think?
This year I'll be rockin' my Rocky Mountain Westy 3.0 H6 powered Syncro. Whoohoo! Look out Johnny, here I come! _________________ "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." - Benjamin Franklin |

X4! I promised an appearance at SS2, but might have a new job... need to work SS into the "time off for VW events" clause.

Syncro not required to attend. Lots of 2WDs were there in 2011. _________________ ~Kamz

My work schedule looks to conflict this year, so, I will need to do some creative shift swapping. Of course, I will not know until the dates are set. May have to drive my Westy out to SLC then fly home, then fly back to go to Solstice. _________________ Happiness=Portland, Oregon in the rearview mirror! |

Now that's dedication! That should give everyone that didn't go last year a pretty good idea of how much fun we had last year. _________________ "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." - Benjamin Franklin |

I was just watching the 2011 video the night before last and the GoProHD camera really brought it to me. I want to go so bad now, but I'm not sure how well my AdventureWagen 2WD would do....How did the other 2WD guys handle it? Lots of winching and tow straps? |

There is something for everybody, plus, you can hitch a ride with people for a Syncro Trail Ride.
I decline to comment about the winching and towstraps thing

Do what I did...Leave your van resting on the nice, flat gravel at camp and ride with somebody else!
Having a 2wd Vanagon should not discourage you in the least; there were all kinds of rides last year, and it was fun just to watch the Syncro guys (and one very ballsy 2wd guy) crawling up the rocks.
I've put this photo back on as my desktop background so that I don't lose focus. (credit Idahoskier for the amazing pic)

JoeTiger is spot on. Solstice is for all vanagons and there's a full spectrum of touring from sweet twisty paved roads to syncro flavored rock crawling. Come on along!
