Hello-

How difficult is it to modify a 356 fan shroud so it will work in a VW? I like the clean look, but I don't want to spend a small fortune having my fabricator putting together custom linkage.

Cheers,

Paul

356 used a modified and trimmed 36hp shroud. It would be easier to adapt the throttle linkage to 36hp than 356 shroud to 36hp

Later models used a 40hp shroud.

Explain why every 356/912 fan shroud has a choke cable hole that has been plugged. Very Happy

Explain why the shrouds have little metal plates spot welded over the holes for the spark plug wire holders then. Also, how are you going to get a 36 horse shroud to fit the larger 1600 engines on Porsches. They are 40 hp stale air shrouds.
