good luck.
Post pictures and put your questions here, that way you document the build. _________________ Glenn

| I started this build about a year ago now haven't been able to do much work as my dad owns the shop it is in and he has been very busy with work so it gets done whenever we have time. Right now we are working on rebuilding the carb and getting ready to make sure the engine will run good and the transaxle is good then we will move on to the wiring and fuel lines then exterior then we will build an interior for it. It has the steel sunroof and I was wondering if there is a way to convert it to power, and I have seen fender vents on some cars just wondering if anyone on here would know where to find parts like that. |

if that is a 72 you need to replace the rear fenders to make it correct _________________ (o)\!/(o) Proud owner of a 1972 Beetle

Awww, you shouldn't have welded the new valance on.
Makes working on and removing the engine so much easier when you can just unbolt it and remove it. |

Ah thats just more internet parroting, 2 of mine have removable valances now and infact aren't even bolted in, just clamped in place by the fender bolts and they don't rattle at all.
You can't even tell they are removable unless you look closely at the weld area next to the decklid seal.
Alot of people do this mod now, rattling certainly isn't an issue. |

Wish I had experience with Veedubs like you. I want to try it. But I am
scared of stuffing it up. How many bugs do you own? |

What sort of tips and tricks are you looking for? Just wired mine up last night.
From my project thread, on another forum:
| Quote: | Rear harness ready to be installed into the car:
...and as you can see, wiring can be a rather messy project!
Shortly thereafter, I managed to get the harness squeezed in past the dreaded foam, and then hooked up on the inside to the main harness.

Check the Vin #'s. One is under the back seat, the other on the dash. Also what does your title say? It should match obviously. _________________ 1973 Super Beetle l 1981 Trans Am |

| ok so the production sticker says 7/71. We got the whole engine bay wired today, and we will try to get the valve cover gaskets changed, change the oil, clean the screen, and get it fired tomorow. I will post a video of the first start. |
