|
|
In the early 70's I walked home from High School past a VW dealership and would stop to look at the new cars and accessories. One dealer accessory that I thought was neat was a replacement shifter knob that instead of having the shift pattern on top had a clock / date in it. It was pretty early in the development of this technology, so it wasn't too fancy.
Just wondering is anybody else remembers them.
On a side note
When I bought my 63 ragtop, it has sat for almost 20 years and it had on of those little clocks that was about big as a quarter stuck to the dash. I would like to add an accessory to my car from every decade it has been
alive. (Yes it's alive because it's taken over my life)

hmmmm I'd like a clock that works in my Van. Small would be ok, the big one doesn't work!!! _________________ 83.5 Vanagon L Riviera Model with 97 1.9L TD AAZ 4 speed Daily Driver 3 out of 4 seasons (for sale)

It seems like I remember Rocky Mountain Motorworks seeling that shift knob when they were in business. I thought it "looked" neet, but it would be tough to actaully see the time, let alone wind it. The clock horn button is a better idea. _________________ aka Ken
