Hmm, I was just in the gallery doin some searching....there is like 10 different categories for Buses....could Bugs be split up similar??

I'm looking for late model Bug pics but I'm in 58-up Bug Sedan....

Maybe there could be like a 58-67 Sedan, 68-79 Sedan....

It might be helpful to have it more split up but it would extremely difficult to move what is there to new categories.

Bit of a breakdown. Since people in other countries had "deluxe" bugs vs "standard" bugs, it should be made clear that where referring to a standard sedan, we're talking about having a beam and not struts

I broke it up into as many categories as possible, that way we could combine two if decided, like all Super Beetles could be in 71-79 Super Beetles, with a Super Beetle Convertible section as well.

I think the biggest problem is people not putting in the time to write a description to help with keywords in search results. They just use the galleries as a photodump.

Maybe having specific subcategories when photos are uploaded (sorta like ebay has for filtering out things) would help. Like a checklist that apply keywords/tags to the photo, so one can filter out what they want to view in the galleries by checking off boxes on a side menu, rather than opening different specific galleries in different tabs.

Something like:
All Beetles
----->split(___, zwitter, kdf) ,oval(__,53-55,56-57), 58-67(__,67only),68-up(std,1302,1303,brazilian,Mex)
--------->____, hardtop, ragtop, sunroof, vert
--------------->____,standard, deluxe, special edition
-------------------->___, interior, engine, wheels, parts
so if one wants to see ragtop ovals and splits, you check Split,Oval,ragtop,

hopefully this makes some sense.

I know its probably really complicated, that's why I usually browse the "Fests Categories" in the readers rides when the search results dont cut it.
