as always I been a fool for the original parts german a must well unless is no longer available I will use a good old days reproduction.
while commuting to work on my 61 bug many moons ago I got pass by a fast moving van that happen to grab a good size tire portion laying on the road.
the portion flew and hit me on the driver side front fender splat kaboon! no guessing I know there is some damage.
no way to catch the fast moving van, my insurance is normal ( not comprehensive so I got to pay for this) as soon as i can i pulled in a safe spot to see the damage. my front bumper has black tire marks is ok, my fender is bent at the light no way to repair it and is german proper for the year with the factory small dimple no filler, factory head light glass you know the one with vw logo is busted chrome is bent. well this ruin my morning but I was glad it did not hit the windshield
as soon as i returned home i went into my garage got my spare german fender look for head light in my spare parts boxes 2 hours later car was fix.
primer fender but ready for next day I'M not about to get too complicated!
well it pays to have some german art work hanging on the garage wall in my case fenders, decklid, bumpers. |

Lucky it was just the fender. About 20 years ago a friend of the family was driving on the 405 and a truck in front of him kicked up a sheet of steel which went right thru the windshield and sliced the top of his skull off! He didnt die of the injury but was a veggie for many years until he died of a blood infection due to bed sores.
Just be glad your bug got a black eye! |

"Arizona" is a native American word that means "watch out for all the stuff flyin' out the back of pickup trucks".
