Just picked this 1960 Beetle up for free! It was driven to where it is sitting now 30 years ago and parked. The title from 1981 was in the glovebox! If anyone notices anything special about it please let me know, but as far as I can tell it looks fairly standard. Is the blue original paint with a red primer underneath? The interior color is dark blue..indigo maybe?? I will get some pictures of the interior and more when I drag it home on Sunday.

It will be sitting next to my 62 Beetle. Can't wait to get it up to snuff an on the road for Spring!

Great find! I like that it was just parked and untouched. How is the car underneath?

From what I can tell by just looking at it in the field, the heater channels are solid, the pan is solid (haven't looked in the battery tray etc. yet). I hope that after some cleaning and checking over things that it might even run... Pray

Basically it was this old mans daughters car and she doesn't want it and he wants it off his property. I saved it from going to the crusher! It was days away from being sent off when I heard about it.

I'm really confused about the paint. The blue on the exterior is very light and the blue interior is dark. The red coming through is throwing me. Maybe 2 overcoats since OG?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it is a Canadian spec emblem only?

The blue may have faded from sitting out in the sun.
