Yeah that's what color it is on the inside and I suspected that it was indigo. I'm just confused with the red underneath....base coat? overcoat? Oh well, going to drag it home today!! Very Happy

Well we got it home today and it was quite the challenge. After sitting for 30 years in the same spot, it had become quite accustomed to that spot. We had to lift it out with a backhoe. Even with the backhoe it was a challenge. It didn't help that everything was frozen in the ground.

Once we got it home we decided to check out the interior and see what goodies this time capsule had...

The pan and heater channels look not too bad considering. I was also told that the engine was recently rebuilt before it was parked. It turns freely by hand, so that't a good sign!

Hopefully as things dry out for you, you don't find a ton of rot. Because the indigo paint on that dash is CLEAN!

I love seeing these kind of resurrection pictures. It's exciting to see all the little things that are in it too... Nice, I'm looking forward to more updates.

Is that one of those gas heaters that is fueled from the gas tank? I forget the name... Nice!

Ya it is a gas heater, I plan to re-install it for looks purpose only. I have one in my other beetle as well, but will never use them.
