Had been asked that at least a dozen times when I was building it - but only once when I was done.
And to the OP - How are you doing that? I had seen a couple pics with a pair mounted kind of like normal duals, with the third on the center. Have no idea how well it works. Post some pics if you have them. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1776.

ok let me address a few things
1. my intention was not start a flame war ! i was simply saying " hey have you ever done something on an engine build and what you thought was common, someone said "what were you thinking !!!"
2. if you've never heard of chevy triple springs on heads you probably have never used much in the way of high performance
3. fk87= engle fk87 camshaft |

Wow! Very nice job on that one! Tough to pull something like that off and have it look 'right'. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=366056 - My '73 Super Build. 2332cc, 16" Fuchs |

You kind of omitted the word "spring" or specified that the thread was engine specific. Makes a little difference - you knew what you were thinking, but we didn't. I was kind of wondering how the cam cam into play with the carb selection. And triple carbs had me scratching my head particularly since they would be pretty large unless the engine was huge.
And thanks Levi - took a lot of planning. Of course some guys walk by it and say - "yeah - its just a kit". _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1776.

| Andk, it might have been just a kit, but somebody had to do it. It looks sharp and I'm glad you put that kind of effort into it. If anybody ever asks again, "Why did you build it?" just tell them that the real Woodie got smashed up in the front and you had a spare Beetle front end, so you joined them together. Then ask if he can see where the Ford begins and the VW ends. It'll have him going. |

I guess triple springs aren't real common anymore
The most common example I can think of is a lot of old school engine builders who would use an engle 130 and 9.5-1cr in a little 1835 grocery getter......... the armchair experts are baffled..........and I admit it seems insane to use a race cam in a little street motor, but the question is not if it works but rather "why does it work?" because sometimes..........it works grreat
I don't get much flak for the weird stuff I build, it's uniformly odd enough that most people don't have a lot of questions, maybe they don't know where to begin _________________ Glen Urban |

I got married....
(The title could be fine tuned a little.)
After all the gossip had died down a few years later, I found out that she was cuuhh-raise-IE!
I haven't stepped in that pile of shit in almost ten years now.... I shoulda' listened when they said that it was a mistake...
I ended up with a much newer and sportier, exotic/foreign model, performance drop-top for the old broken down trade-in... been Sunday driving ever since, eight years strong now this February. And very happily too, I may add.
As fare as engines go (and flame wars too).... the 20/50 does it every time. _________________

No, You could call that a triple (like triple 94's, 97's etc) but mainly thats called Tri-power.
And the "fk87" should have helped you, its a cam. So hes talking about valve springs. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"
