Yeah 1 thread per inch at that size is negligible

Motor is almost ready to shove in the back of the 68. As usual, I get a day off and it rains down here in Southern Louisiana. Southern Louisiana Rocks.

Oil temp will be inline with the external filter

You can buy that same brass tee for half the price in your local hardware store and there is no shipping.

You could also just run a VDO dual sender which will have a post for the stock light and a VDO pressure gauge.

Yeah, I may end up doing that. I have one, I just heard that they are set up different....read on aircooled dot net that it triggers at a lower psi ?

If your new engine triggers a light you have a problem.

My light post doesn't work... the sender is stuck but the gauge works just fine. I'm too lazy to swap it out for the new one I have in a box.
With a fresh case you hopefully won't have pressure below 20 lbs if you are running a 26 mm pump.

Those dual pole VDO senders do trip the light at a higher pressure than stock, but as long as you know that, it's no big deal. You'll have a gauge telling you the real pressure if there is question.

The only motor I ever had issue with that happening with was well worn. On a hot day fully warm, it would occasionally trip the light at idle. A quick glance at the gauge showed I was still making just shy of 10# of pressure, so no biggie IMO.

12/11/2012!?! Any chance this is a real build? I'm not going to bother reading thru 64 pages of posts because most of it seems like garbage that has no business being on a forum about cars. I don't want to hate, but a few years back I built a similar motor that is still running today and took less time to build (did my own machine work) than this clown has spent posting on a single topic.
I joined this site for information, not to listen to your personal problems. Also you seem like a dick from what I have cared to read. Either build an engine or stop wasting everyone's time.

Thanks for a complete waste of a topic
Ryan

You do not recall correctly or spell correctly or form a readable sentence.
But what difference does it make.

And Mrs ryanh is.what I've been talking about...anyway......I ran into a problem with my exhaust. It's bugpack 1 5/8 merged. It won't go on with the sled tins and industrial tins. Actually wouldn't go on with just the sled tins. I think it was Glenn that said the berg exhaust fits. Glenn, you out there? And yeah.....California on my mind. Going to Los Angeles to work E3. May 31-June 17. And the princess may have a job in Eureka. They're flying her out for a formal interview next week.

Yeah, this.has taken a while....so what.

Yeah, most all merged headers go though where the sled tin goes. It is kinda like that for a reason tho. Decide if performance or "tin" is the higher priority and modify accordingly!

Yes berg header should work with them.

The Bugpack Street Max header is make to be used with heater boxes or J pipes and to run all the tin and the thermostat
http://vwparts.aircooled.net/STREET-MAX-HEADER-1-5-8-w-Stinger-Ceramic-Raw-p/2009-13-2009-23.htm

The Berg header is the GB933S - that is the 1 5/8" header that clears the tin and you can use the thermostat.

Your other alternative it so use an A-1 sidewinder header that is made to be used with heater boxes (you can use them with J tubes though) and they are made to clear the tin and thermostat also.

You don't need all those tins. My cars have run for years without them...... In south Louisiana. With 94's at 12.7 AFR... In a vert... Don't believe everything you read.

Yep. That's it. Pipes from one and three look like the go outside where the sled tins are.

I would just trim the sled tins and use the header you have. Here are what some guys did for mods when buying headers where the pipes run under the pushrod tubes.
