The one I got from them didn't work. I'll have to return it. Back to square one. Who rebuilds them?

about 5 minutes looking in a magazine got me these guys:

http://applehydraulics.com/

I have no experience with them but its worth a shot.

from the site:
Quote:
COMPLETE REBUILDING
Send us complete cylinder (as it came off the car) and we will return it cleaned, brass sleeved and assembled with new rebuild kit, ready to install back on the car.

Sleeving is the way to go IMO.

Which ones did you guys order (didn't work) or try to order (out of stock)?

On the website, there is a listing for "rebuilt" (A1Cardone) or "new" (Raybestos), both showing in stock. From what I have heard in the past, don't even bother with rebuilt, they likely aren't any good- I personallly haven't installed one in a car, so I couldn't really say for sure (though I have some on a shelf). The intriguing thing was the purported "new" ones, now that is what I am curious about!

Complete rebuild listed on their site is more than the possibly "new" one. Just the sleeving is nearly as expensive, without anything else.

Mine was rebuilt. There were no New ones for sale. I've gone through 4 MC in 2 yrs. Including an NOS one and a new one. I don't blame the NOS one since VW stated they only have a shelf life of 2 yrs. But someone out there has to have rebuild kits.
