Anybody from Rio de Janeiro check this website? Can you direct me or give me some idea where i can find a car wrecking yard that contain old VW cars and buses?

I am going there next month for a couple of weeks.

Also, what is the equivalent of a NAPA auto store in Brazil????

any VW in Rio related tips will be greatly appreciated...

There isn't really any "NAPA" like stores but rather a "mom and pop" stores in just about every block. As far as used parts you can go to any body shop and they will have plenty of bugs around. I'm not from Rio but I am from Fortaleza which is north of Rio and that is how it is in my town. I have been to Rio a few times and it seems to be the same.

thanks dude....also, i googled the words "carro ferro velho" and came across a listing with maps.... i can't help but notice some of the yards are sandwich between favelas.... anyhow... i will check some more...

You do not want to take a wrong turn in RIO. If you don't know where you are going do not go, be careful. If they see you are a tourist they WILL take complete advantage of you.
